This week's goals
Last week was not the best of weeks. Sometimes they happen, I suppose. I don't know how it is for you guys, but I know when I get thrown off my schedule, sometimes everything just goes downhill. I didn't run nearly as much as I'd hoped, and there was no kickboxing this week. My diet stayed the course - save for some Irish soda bread, God that stuff is fantastic - but for the most part it was just a tough week. Daylight Savings Time hasn't helped - is everyone this tired? I'm just pooped. So for this week, I'm adding on some personal goals, which mostly I hate doing because it seems so silly and trite but in the wake of a week where things didn't go as planned, sometimes it's good to be a little strict on myself to make sure I don't go the way of the sloth. Especially since right now my hormones are in an uproar. ESPECIALLY because of that. Here are the goals: 1) Hit all of my planned workouts, even if that means working out in the morning. I can guarantee you that this means working out in the morning. We have dinner plans Tuesday and Wednesday that leave no room for working out beforehand. As much as I loathe working out in the morning, I'm going to have to hit it. 2) Add additional ab work into my routine at least two more times. I hate stopping to do ab work. I don't really know why. It just bored me to tears. 3) Drink more water on the weekend. I'm an absolute saint during the week, and I probably drink about 2 1/2 quarts of water in the daytime hours alone. On the weekends? Swear to God I'm practically dehydrating myself. So stupid. 4) Get an overabundance of vegetables and fruits into my diet this week. I was super bad about that last week, and was carb-crazy for some reason. I have asparagus and brussels sprouts in my frige that I've to eat up ASAP. 5) Walk the dog. We tend to run together in the mornings more than anything else - though on Saturday afternoon she literally stopped and sat on the sidewalk for a breather - but I need to get in the habit of taking walks at night with her too. We have a backyard, so we're lucky, but she needs more than that. That's it for now. All very doable, I think, and nothing too unreasonable. Hope you all have a great week! |
