No classes for me!
Well, yet. How it escaped me that I had plans every night this week, including two concerts, was beyond me. Next week isn't a whole lot better but I did sit down and map things out and managed to find a way to fit a bellydancing class in there as well as at least one burlesque class. Training for the LaSalle Bank Shamrock Shuffle begins today, and while technically the training programs begin on Mondays, I'm starting today because it's February 1. This means a two-mile run and strength training at lunch today. I haven't done this race in two years so I'm serious about sticking to Hal's training guide. Despite all of my experience running, I didn't run a single race last year so I'm going the novice route. I've been running, both on my own at the gym and with my dog, but there's little rhyme or reason to it. Training is of the essence, especially with my propensity for knee problems. Yesterday was a bad day. I made the mistake of eating Campbell's Chunky Soup - the Savory Chicken with White & Wild Rice, to be exact - and while it was nutritionally sound in almost every way, the sodium content sent my body into Bloatsville. It was horrible. I was in pain for the remainder of the day. I'm in awe of how my body reacts to certain foods these days. How sensitive it seems to be now. It's made making sound food choices easier, that's for sure. I haven't stepped on the scale in two weeks. I don't know why. It feels pretty good, tough. Soooo many wonderful things to try. Although, it is hard to get organized to start with just one. posted by: Stefanie at February 1, 2007 11:57 PM

Ohh, I love me some Hal. He got me from sort of half-assed running to my first half-marathon several years ago.
