No Excuses

I've known about Stanley's for forever now - I drive past it at least three times a week - and had yet to stop in until Sunday morning.

For $12, I walked outta there with two containers of organic strawberries, a container of mixed fruit, a spaghetti squash, five kiwis, one yellow squash, one red pepper, an eggplant and a bag of small pitas. For $12. With my bounty, I made a huge fruit salad for breakfast and later Sunday night for dinner with two of my girlfriends, made roasted vegetables and tossed them with some rotini, olive oil and garlic.

It's not that the price of produce keeps me from buying it, but it does keep me from buying it en masse. I get enough to get buy - apples, some veggies for a side, some carrots. Had I gone to a supermarket chain to buy all of that, it would have cost me almost $25. The strawberries alone would have been about $10. It was nice to eat all day on, for the most part, veggies and fruit alone.

I have enough veggies and pasta left over for about three more meals.

I miss kickboxing. I wish the gym I've been going to had a kickboxing class. There is nothing quite as satisfying as kicking the crap out of a punching bag.

Sort of unrelated to health and fitness, but I'd like your feedback anyway, does anyone have a good recommendation for a solid facial cleansing product? I'm suffering from a spate of acne the likes my face has NEVER seen. I didn't get acne when I was a kid, and aside from a few Period Pimples, I don't now. And I don't know if it was the new moisturizer I was using - Cetaphil - but my face is just a mess.

Friends are telling me to try Proactiv - help! Anyone? Do I have to resort to a product hawked by Jessica Simpson?
