Question: What Do These Things Have In Common?
Lincolnshire Poacher (Neal's Yard) Dirty Sapphire Martini Answer: They are all things that make life worth living. They also are things I cannot eat for the foreseeable future. WHY GOD, WHY? I QUIT SMOKING! WASN'T THAT ENOUGH? Now you take away my Manchego too? People, I must have kicked puppies in a former life. Posted by Erin at 12:23 PM | filed under: Ouch commentsNope. Can't have the caffeine. No caffeine, no booze, no dairy and no spicy foods. Plus, I'm supposed to watch how much fiber I eat. Lord. I am going to be eating ... nothing. posted by: Erin at July 22, 2005 12:41 PM At least they didn't make you get an endoscopy and a colonoscopy ... yet. Feh. posted by: Debra at July 22, 2005 01:09 PM Oh, honey. I do know the Clausthaler Non-Alcoholic beer tastes similar to the real thing -- as does the Kaliber NA made by Guiness. But man, giving up caffiene alcohol, spicy foods and dairy at once? That's tough. At least you'll probably lose some weight. It's like the Fat Flush plan. Only with sugar! posted by: Heather at July 22, 2005 01:31 PM Hm.. this is a similar diet (to mine). My doctor put me on a few months ago (for colon issues, and other such fun). I can tell now, that caffeine and alcohol really cause flare ups for me. Combine that with fatty foods and I'm a mess. Did he give you an idea or diagnosis? Or are they eliminating foods first? I had 1001 tests and was put on a clear liquid diet at some point prior to the limiting foods part. posted by: taylore at July 22, 2005 01:54 PM Hey all -- no diagnosis yet. Trying the food elimination to see if it'll alleivate the symptoms. I am going to go on ahead and cut out dairy and caffeine and spicy foods completely but I'm not living without the occassional G&T. Just can't do it. I quit smoking, for God's sake! I go for a CAT scan next week and then we go from there. I have a lot of tenderness on my right side but she wasn't pushing panic buttons ... posted by: Erin at July 22, 2005 02:24 PM Hi Erin, posted by: Heather at July 22, 2005 03:48 PM Hey, Jaime. Now I feel stupid. :( posted by: Jurgen Nation at July 22, 2005 04:57 PM I really doubt it's the alcohol anyways! I betcha it's the dairy. The body over the years changes it's tolerences of stuff, unfortunately. That would suck too..cuz to give up cheese...Oh man..If it were me, Kraft would go out of business. They'd be calling me begging me to get back on cheese!! posted by: Cyndi at July 22, 2005 09:48 PM Oh no jurgen, it was adorable! I thought I was terribly unsophistated for not knowing what they were. =) Erin, girl, I'm feeling for you. posted by: jaime at July 23, 2005 12:08 AM Good luck with the elimination- and good luck today (Saturday) on your return to WW. Heather's right- if you eliminate those things from your diet now due to health reasons, it will help with the weight loss endeavor- and probably keep you away from them (instead of using POINTS on them). Carbonated veggies? Hee! (Love it!) posted by: Kate at July 23, 2005 08:11 AM Jaime: Okay, I thought I was being made fun of! :) I'm Sorry - I had had a rough day yesterday. ((Hug)) Erin, I hope you are feeling better! posted by: Jurgen Nation at July 23, 2005 12:44 PM Jurgen-It gave us all a good laugh. Thanks..I myself really needed it! :o) posted by: Cyndi at July 23, 2005 03:21 PM well at least your smart enough to accept it, when I gave up smoking I was so proud of myself I ate EVERYTHING.....20lbs later I was pretty pissed off about the whole thing posted by: a girl running at July 23, 2005 10:30 PM |

Hm. Surely you can have coffee without milk, no? There's dairy in - wait. The dairy isn't the culprit? Those carbonated vegetables, though. You really need to avoid those at all costs.
