Guessing game
Aside from food, there is nothing I love to indulge in more than All-Things Beauty related. Massages, facials, manicures, pedicures, lotions, masks ... it's a little insane. I've learned to curb my habit and look for deals and bargains when I can. Sometimes, I pick up things that total mystify even a product-whore like me. I love Lush. I know I'm late in the online ballgame in announcing this, but whatever. I love that we have stores here, and about once or twice a year I buy a few of these, a tub of this, a jar of this in Brazened Honey, a bar of this, a container or two of this, and certainly a bottle of this. Never all at once, of course, but those are the products in my arsenal. All of it makes me stupidly happy. And I've learned that every once in a while the store hosts a party where they give out tons of free stuff, and you earn more free stuff, and basically it's a Lush Free Stuff Party. When cleaning out my bathroom cabinet recently, I stumbled upon a Bag O' Free Stuff that I got back in October. Totally forgot about it. People - there was a ton of awesome free stuff. But one thing in that bag? Yeah, I have no idea what it is. It didn't have a label attached to it and there doesn't seem to be even a slip of paper explaining what it does. I've tried, um, every bath-related use for it that I can think of but I don't think the product is working the way it's supposed to.
Seriously. No clue. Keep in mind that the white stuff wasn't there - it's just a soapy kind of residue. It's kind of like a bar of clay and it doesn't get soapy - more oily than anything else. Lush fans! Can you help me? Edited: I think some of you guys are right about it being Running To The Embassy. Which is a nice discovery to make since my feet become grosser and grosser the more miles I run. And I know I'm probably alone on this, but I never actually do much maintenance on my feet, aside from the occasional pedicure. I have scrubs and scrubbers and lotions for my feet, but they lay dormant. So sad. Anyway, after spinning tonight I will try this and maybe even PAINT MY TOES. Maybe. Thanks everyone! Posted by Erin at 09:46 PM | filed under: Odds and ends commentsEverything sounds great....I just saw they have a store in Georgetown, so thanks for pointing me to another place to blow the rest of my money. ; ) The mask and the lemon cuticle cream are definitely on my list. posted by: Laurie at March 6, 2007 10:32 PM I'm probably wrong but maybe it's a solid conditioner for your hair? I buy Lush products a lot myself and one time one of the "freebie samples" was a solid bar of conditioner. For the life of me, I could NOT figure out how to use it. I think I gave myself a headache from trying to SMASH and MUSH the bar into the side of my head. posted by: Suzie at March 6, 2007 10:43 PM POSSIBLY it is the King of Skin or another body butter bar? I get those. While in the shower, turn the water away (or off) while you rub it all over you, then rinse. No after-shower moisturizer needed! posted by: Donna at March 6, 2007 10:50 PM it looks like a body butter bar....not sure though! posted by: wn at March 7, 2007 06:53 AM one of the massage bars? posted by: ann at March 7, 2007 07:12 AM Maybe a deodorant bar? posted by: lou at March 7, 2007 09:16 AM I vote for massage bar. You know, every so often Lush resurrects discontinued varieties, per the request of the customers. My best friend posts at the official Lush message board and keeps me abreast of the developments. While I am happy to accept her insider information (she snagged me a limited-edition bottle of my beloved Skinny Dip!) I am not quite obsessed enough to join up myself. Not...quite. posted by: Kelly at March 7, 2007 09:55 AM It looks like the Running to the Embassy bar to me, but that has ground pumice in it... I can't tell by the color, but it could also possibly be You Snap the Whip. I was a total Lush devotee, but the last few rounds of price hikes put it out of my grad-student budget. I'll be sad to give up my Celestial moisturizer. There's nothing better than applying something with the exact smell and consistency of vanilla frosting to your face. posted by: Nomie at March 7, 2007 10:49 AM I too would vote on a massage bar--especially if it's more oily than anything else. posted by: Dellface it looks to me like a brick, proving two things.... there IS one born every ten minutes. and there are those who will buy anything if it is packaged right. posted by: Aunt K.K. at March 7, 2007 02:44 PM post a comment

Pumice stone to scrub your feet with?
I wondered, but there isn't any pumice-y in it. It's really smooth!
