What's Been Going On

Internet, Internet, Internet.

I'm getting worse and worse when it comes to making my own unsubstantial contributions to your cacophony of crap. That's probably a good thing though since I've been maintaining this site for almost seven years now, I might as well give it a stab this afternoon.

1) I have now had the longest-lasting pedicure of my life. Had it done the week before Christmas and it has yet to see a chip.

2) My Gram turned 85 and somehow we managed to take pictures of the day, including ones that were posed, not just ones that were the result of me shoving my camera into their faces and snapping before one of them could yell, "Is this going to end up on ejshea.com?"

3)I've been eating an incredibly large amount of cottage cheese lately. I throw frozen cherries and slivered almonds in there to spice it up. I opted out of that today and am woefully disappointed.

4) I am back to playing Buffy on the Xbox again. I love Nintendo but I do not like losing and that's what happened when we sat down to play the other night and I got my ass handed to me. I like my ass where it belongs, thanks.

5) My new job, which I suppose isn't so new anymore, remains fantastic. I have a new iMac, in addition to the new PC, and while I am resisting, my boss says I will become a convert to the ways of the Mac.

6) Jen and Jeffrey got engaged around Christmas and we're having dinner with them on Sunday night. Jeffrey is the creative director of this cool little company, and I am willing to pop for dinner if he brings with him this tshirt, which has been sold out since the moment it launched.

7) I haven't done laundry since the day before Christmas Eve.

8) Glin has a new hobby, which is to tear the fuzzy outer covering on tennis balls. She also enjoys scratching your face. We'll see how tough she is when she gets her rabies shots on Saturday morning. And gets those nails of hers clipped.

9) This weekend the girls and I are headed off to the 'burbs for my first big slumber party in years. Jacquie is having all of us out there for drinks, food, merriment, and even better? Spa treatments. Yay for mobile spas!

10) Dave was here last weekend, and while it had been several years since we'd seen each other, it was as though not a day had gone by. He seems to like Cambodia, so I don't know that I'll get him back here anytime soon. Especially since we couldn't get the air mattress blown up for him and all 6'3 of him was left to sleep on the loveseat.

11) I am addicted to Crystal Light Raspberry Ice. I blame Kate Shea as to why I am walking around town, sporting red-stained lips.

12) While we're on the topic of addiction and blame, Eliza Lou discovered old thirysomething episodes on You Tube and I cannot get enough. My friend Julene was overheard to say, upon me announcing this discovery, "Now to find 'Sisters'."

13) Speaking of television shows, if you're not watching How I Met Your Mother, you are dead to me. While this past week's episode did not match the "Robin Sparkles" episode (what could?), we did decide that it was still some of the best TV to be found right now.

14) Next week Candace, Jessie and I are going for cocktails. It will be the first time in forever that all three of us were able to make the stars align long enough to get together.

15) Tonight I am finally taking my Christmas tree down. Don't ask.

Oh, Crystal Light Raspberry Ice--how I wish I could drink you. But, after mixing you with Bicardi Limon about 4 nights a week for both semesters of my sophomore year, just the smell, or sight of countless pictures of me and my roommates with bright fuschia moustaches and teeth, are enough to put me right over the edge.

I don't suppose you'd be willing to share the name of the salon that did the excellent pedicure? My feet are starting to look...well, like feet look in a Chicago winter.

Are you talking about the episode that had the Barney/ Dirty Dancing bit in it? Because I keep going and watching that on YouTube and laughing my ass off.

I think it's the best sitcom around (tied with My Name is Earl and Scrubs, that is)

Lifetime ran thirtysomething in its entirety a few years ago, when I was unemployed and I was OBSESSED. I couldn't answer the phone if someone called during thirtysomething.
