The Weekend
I have decided that all of my weekends should include valiant attempts at securing me cheap stuffed toys. Walking out of Dominick's on Saturday night, we stopped dead in our tracks at the crane game. I'd like to tell you that I walked away from that game with a sawdust-filled treat to call my very own, but alas that is not the case. The only thing I am is short on laundry money. Three dollars probably would have dried a lot of clothes. Just the same, I got just as much joy out of the looks on the faces of the people who were walking out of the store, wondering why we were having so much fun at a stupid crane machine. They didn't understand that had I won that Santa doll, my night would have been complete. It's days after the fact, so I won't go into every detail of my weekend, but suffice it to say it was the perfect way to kick off the Christmas season and frankly I'm so excited about the holidays that I can barely contain myself. If I could walk around with a santa cap and not get too many stares, I would. The girls and I spent all of Sunday together, my tree is up and the dog doesn't seem too interested in it. Which is a good thing but don't you think I'm leaving her out when I'm at work. I love my dog, she's a good dog, but I have visions of Glin toppling over my tiny little tree, batting ornaments about the apartment, covering herself in ribbons and feasting on pine needles. And don't you think she wouldn't eat the pine needles because she will eat anything. This weekend is the celebration dinner for Ali - she got engaged in October and we head out for the traditional engagement dinner. Saturday is a Christmas party hosted by some new friends, and I think perhaps on Sunday, should my knee feel better, I am going to try and convince some people that it would be a very good idea to go ice skating. You'd be surprised how hard it is to get people downtown to ice skate. Seriously. Anyway, pictures from last weekend here. I just know he'd be excited about the new indoor potty :( posted by: kelly at December 6, 2006 07:15 AM i'd love to hear if you get people to go ice skating and how it goes for you. it's always a dream of mine that seems to go unfulfilled every winter. but i did get my skates sharpened last winter. posted by: jocelyn at December 10, 2006 12:32 AM |

When I was in college, I had a job running the stuffing machine for toys and other stuffed trinkets. One of the worst jobs ever!
