Eat, Pray, Lounge
Right now I am in the midst of many things, and those things are, in no particular order: 1) Training for a 1/2 marathon I am reading the most appropriate, most amazing book right now - Eat, Pray, Love - and it's speaking to me in a fashion that, had I picked up when it came out earlier this year, I wouldn't have been ready for it in the way that I am now. Last night, before I blissfully drifted off to sleep, I read the part where she discusses the Italians natural ability to relax and do nothing. They've brought it to a wine-filled, cheese-stocked, bread-stuffed art. So this morning, when Glinny whinned to be let out and the alarm went off at 6:30 a.m., instead of crawling back to bed to tell myself to get more sleep, or get up to get on the computer, I instead stayed in my ridiculously comfortable bed, and all of its memory foamed, down comforter, t-shirt sheeted, five-pillowed goodness, and read my book for two hours. I poured myself a cup of coffee, grabbed two mini biscotti's, and cuddled up in bed before having to jump in the shower and head off to work. It was the most decadent two hours I've spent in ages and I became more energized, relaxed and happy than the extra sleep every would have provided for me. Posted by Erin at 11:44 AM | filed under: Odds and ends commentsI'm reading that book too and I love it. I'm purposely not picking it up very much each day because I don't want to be done with it too fast! posted by: lisa at October 24, 2006 12:33 PM Thank you so much for posting about the memory foam mattress - I bought one within 10 seconds of clicking the link on your post, and could not be happier (neither could my back). Best of luck with your training and lounging! posted by: Amy at October 24, 2006 04:32 PM Amy - I KNOW. I love the memory foam. Seriously, is it NOT like a completely different bed? posted by: Erin at October 24, 2006 05:16 PM Erin! Are you still in Chicago? I was looking at your schedule and I can't really tell if you're in Paris yet or not! It makes me sad that I didn't get to catch you perform this year ... posted by: Erin at October 24, 2006 05:19 PM Okay, I just went immediately and bought "Eat, Pray, Love" and I am so excited to read it! It looks like just what I've been needing. Thanks, Erin. posted by: laurie at October 25, 2006 12:44 AM Whilst you have my full support, let me just say that when I quit drinking this year, right at this time, I realized just how much LESS FUN Halloween was due to no alcohol. Also I had quit smoking, so that didn't help much either. posted by: tankboy at October 25, 2006 10:34 AM Despite #5, you sound content and comforted, regardless of your difficulites this past year. There is nothing like the best bed in the world AND five pillows to soothe a soul. posted by: Annie Erin- first, thank you so much...I just happend to talk to Candy yesterday and she told me about this website...Second, it was so great too see you. The third are my three inch ruby slippers for my Halloween costume. I hope all is well with you, Ms. Shea... I'm sending good vibes your way :) posted by: Meredith at October 26, 2006 07:38 AM Meredith, you sweetie. Smooches, chica. Also, Erin W.: I'm there in February! posted by: Erin at October 26, 2006 10:32 AM I wanted to let you know that I paid $29 to become an Arbonne Consultant just so that I can get the 35% discount on all the products. Originally, I was gonna just buy for myself, but I decided to go ahead and sell it just for fun. If you want to sign up to get the discount, you can anytime. If you don't want to, you could ask your friend for a discount first, or I can get you one. Just to help you out I'd be happy to give you a 20% discount. I understand because I had to sign up just to afford it better! I believe you about how awesome the stuff is. I tried it for one week (not really caring to try) but I fell in love with it. If you do decide you'd like the discount from me, just remind me in an email and I will get started for you. : ) posted by: Virginia at October 26, 2006 12:17 PM Aileen! I can't wait to see you again - had so much fun at Candace's! xoxox Virgina, while I truly appreciate your offer, it was very sweet of you, I don't feel comfortable with you posting all of your personal contact information at my site so I've removed it all from the post. Sorry. I just don't want to be responsible for wackos calling you and it kind of made me feel as though you were using my site as a billboard for your business. Hope you can understand. posted by: Erin at October 26, 2006 12:31 PM I'm going to have to check out this book that everyone is raving about. And, I LOVE Ray. I saw him at a little club about 1.5 years ago and have been obsessed ever since. He is amazing. posted by: marit at October 27, 2006 06:23 PM |

That was the best book I've read all year, and maybe in years. I spent an entire plane ride weeping and laughing with that book...a 14 hour plane-ride, that is!
A morning in bed with biscotti - sounds like heaven! I too often prefer reading over sleep, when a book is good.
