Thankful

I am thankful for a multitude of things this year, some are obvious and others ... not so much. That's how life should be, I think. We should structure for ourselves lives that are filled with the large and small blessings, some of which we can share with the world at large and others that belong to us alone.

Seriously, no one else really cares if I'm thankful for Chinese Slimming Tea. Well, no one but me and my doctor and her staff who, this summer, spent a woefully exhaustive amount of time trying to help me figure out why my stomach refuses to function properly.

Anyway, I'm thankful. I have a wonderful career, a loving family, friends who could not be more supportive and caring, not to mention a dog who could not be more awesome if she tried. These are all things that even each on its own would enough and I'm lucky to count them all as things with which my life has been blessed.

And it's 10:40 a.m., the day after Thanksgiving, and we're watching "Kicking and Screaming," not the one I've been told I need to see but until it comes out on DVD this is what I've got, and it's hysterical, and Starbucks has rolled out its holiday coffees, the non-fat version of the Gingerbread Latte is currently sitting on my desk to my right because I can take the joy out of food like nobody's business, and we're not doing anything today but cleaning and researching how I want to go out about this year's version of Turkey soup, which means NO SHOPPING and I couldn't ask for much more at this moment.

Well, I could. But I won't. :)

I hope you have things big and small to be thankful for this year.

Yup, lots of them. Mostly connected with having Sorted My Life Out to a greater extent than ever before.

Gingerbread Latte... I had one of the normal ones in a weak moment (AFAIK British Starb'ses don't do a nonfat version, though I could ask...) and really? The combination of the creaminess with the sweetness was too much. Almost nauseating. A non-fat version would probably be pleasanter to drink, although it's obviously a matter of taste.

Anyway, happy post-Thanksgiving weekend (I typed that as Thinksgiving. That, too, I suppose)!
